First off some quotes from my reading of Day 1:
“God is powerful, and He can do anything, including set you free from the control of food.”
“The Greek word for abide used in John 8:31-32 and John 15:4-5 is the same word that’s used for living in a house. The idea is that we don’t just visit the Word for 10 minutes a day. We live in the Word. Meditate on it. Chew on it as we walk through the day.”
Taking every thought captive is something I have been trying to do already… when something comes in my head that goes against what I believe God is wanting me to do in the way of eating, I take that thought captive by either quoting Scripture that deals directly with the thought or by praying and asking God to redirect my thoughts to His will. When we take every thought captive, abide in Him, follow Him and trust Him, He prunes, purifies, produces fruit and transforms us with His power. Thank you, Jesus!!
The teaching for day one also reminded me not to use worldly weapons (diet, exercise, etc.) to handle a spiritual problem.
