This lesson didn’t really resonate with me. I’ve never been skinny and never really wanted to be skinny. I have wanted to NOT be fat – but there’s a difference. Still, Barb mentioned three truths that I need to remember:
1. My worth is not determined by a number on the scale.
2. Who I am on the inside is more important than who I am on the outside.
3. I don’t need to live up to the expectations of others.
We all need to see ourselves through God’s eyes and not the eyes of the possible critics in our lives.
Here’s the last paragraph before the Bible study in today’s lesson:
“God doesn’t want you to feel like you have to be skinny to be acceptable. Yes, you’ll be slim one day if you continue to renew your mind and break free from the control of food. And God wants you to break free from the control of food. But He also wants you to see yourself through His eyes—and He cares more about your character than your appearance.”
